Strong

You're just so strong
I hear it all the time in the pacing of my steps in the breathing of my breaths

You're so strong
It rings in the ears of my detriment and echos in the halls of my fears

You're so strong so strong
As if this life granted me the leeway gave me the pittance to take a different path on a closed freeway

You're so strong you
Left to you I wouldn't even have the scraps that you'd give your dogs another slight that slaps

You're so strong
No one is going to sit politely in the corner and die I knew I couldn't even grant you the joy of the tears I did cry

You're so strong so very strong
I hear as a testament to a journey you can't grasp an admitted witness to a test you thought I could not pass

You're so strong to do what you've what you've accomplished
Now comes the trick where you try to undermine my sprint

You're so strong come so far
At the bottom of hope is the derailing of chance with nothing to lose all that's left is to advance

You're so strong to do what you've done
When climbing up flat walls by sifting dirt, growing claws you don't have adapting to a place past hurt

You're so strong be proud
Of becoming what I had to become what I had to say to succeed at a game I was never meant to play

You're so strong
To refuse trash you disguised as comfort, to not believe that if I stay put you'd let me have my day in court

You're so strong
For seeing through the veil of your hypocrisy not accepting your truth about my capability my agency

You're so strong
So when did you begin to see the truth, in your weakness you succor a tree that will always take root

You're so strong
You see that this tree will always bear fruit, in darkness in light, it will never cease to live to fight

You're so strong
It shuns your attempts to adapt its form and its grace, hiding what you lack with your imitation of its face

You're so strong
It is a power that can not be taken but earned, over hundreds of years of the fields being tilled and burned

You're so strong
Lifting itself on the backs of the roots that came before, pushing stretching and reaching always for more

You're so strong
Then your game of inches becomes a game of feet, your game of yards becomes a game of miles to beat

You're so strong
I will continue to be strong in will, strong of spirit enough to fill, this life this voice strong of character strong of choice, strong in my boughs strong as I cradle victims of play that's foul, strong in my base strong in every trial I face.

I decry your confusion and invite your dismay strong I remain come what may. I temper your complacent guilt hiding salted rage as you're still losing to a foe in a cage. Its not the stealing of things as the stealing of truth that brings this fear of becoming what you tried to create understanding your fate will not be that great. You are the villain in your own fairytale I the conquering hero the clever princess the David that will prevail.

The end of this tale ends where we all belong, this is the story you wrote I was always meant to be strong.
